The Sidebar Navigation
The left sidebar is your primary navigation. Every major feature in Jtek lives here. Here's exactly what each section does so you know where to go for any task.
- Dashboard — The home screen showing your key stats, recent activity, and performance at a glance. Start here every morning to see where things stand.
- Conversations — Your unified inbox. Every inbound SMS, email, Facebook message, Instagram DM, and missed call shows up here. This is where you respond to leads in real time.
- Contacts — Your full contact database. Every person you've ever added, imported, or captured through a form or ad is here. Use tags and smart lists to organize and filter them.
- Opportunities — Your deal pipeline. Active leads and transactions are tracked here as opportunity cards in a Kanban-style board. Move them through stages as deals progress.
- Calendars — Your booking calendar and appointment management. Share your booking link with leads so they can schedule calls or showings directly on your calendar.
- Marketing — Email campaigns, SMS broadcasts, and social media scheduling. Use this to send mass communications to your contact list.
- Automations — Your workflow engine. Set up automatic follow-up sequences, lead nurture drips, and event-triggered messages here. This is where Jtek does the heavy lifting for you.
- Reporting — Analytics on your leads, calls, campaigns, and pipeline. Use the reports to understand what's working and where leads are dropping off.
- Settings — Business profile, phone numbers, team members, integrations, billing, and account configuration. Come here to set up and manage your account.
The Dashboard Home Screen
The Dashboard home screen gives you a real-time snapshot of your business health. Here's what each stat means and what action to take based on what you see.
- New Leads — The number of new contacts added to your CRM in the selected time period (default: last 7 days). This includes leads from all sources: forms, manual entry, imports, and integrations. If this number is zero or low, your lead generation channels may need attention.
- Open Conversations — The number of conversations in your inbox with unread or unanswered messages. A high number here is a warning sign — it means leads are waiting for a response. Your goal should be to keep this number as low as possible by responding quickly.
- Booked Appointments — How many appointments are scheduled in your Jtek calendar in the current period. If this is consistently low, consider sending more leads your booking link or using an automation to offer appointments automatically.
- Pipeline Value — The total estimated value of all active opportunities in your pipeline, weighted by their stage probability. This tells you the current potential revenue in your funnel. A healthy pipeline value depends on your market and volume — track it over time to understand your baseline.
- Recent Activity Feed — Below the stat cards, a live feed shows recent contact activity: new leads added, messages received, appointments booked, and deals updated. Use this as a quick pulse check without having to navigate to each section.
- Change the time range — Use the date picker in the top right of the dashboard to switch between "Today," "This Week," "This Month," or a custom range. This lets you compare performance across different periods.
The Conversations Inbox
The Conversations inbox is where all your lead communication lands in one place — SMS, email, calls, Facebook messages, and more. Think of it as the command center for every active relationship.
- Click "Conversations" in the left sidebar — All active conversation threads appear in a list on the left side, sorted by most recent. Unread conversations appear bold with a blue indicator.
- Understand what "All Conversations" shows — By default, you see all conversations across all contacts and team members. If your account has multiple users, you'll see everyone's threads here unless filtered.
- Filter by channel — At the top of the inbox, use the channel filter to see only SMS conversations, only email, only calls, or only Facebook messages. This helps you focus on the right channel at the right time.
- Filter by status — Use the status filter to toggle between Open (active threads), Unread (messages waiting for response), and All. "Unread" is the most important filter — these are leads waiting on you.
- Click a conversation to open it — The full message history appears on the right. You can see every SMS, email, and note in one timeline. Reply using the input at the bottom — select the channel (SMS or email) before sending.
- Use the "Add Note" option to log internal notes — Notes are visible to your team but are NOT sent to the contact. Use them to log call summaries, client details, or internal instructions for other team members.
- Mark conversations as "Read" or "Unread" — Right-click a conversation or use the three-dot menu to mark it. Use "Unread" intentionally to flag threads you need to come back to — it acts as a to-do flag.
Quick Actions
Jtek has several shortcuts for the most common tasks — adding a contact, starting a conversation, and creating an opportunity — accessible from anywhere in the app without navigating to a specific section.
- Adding a contact from anywhere — In most areas of Jtek, look for a "+" or compose button in the top right. In the Contacts section, click "+ Add Contact" to open a quick-add modal. Fill in the basics (name, phone, email) and click Save — the contact is added instantly.
- Starting a new conversation — In the Conversations inbox, click the compose/pencil icon in the top right. Search for an existing contact by name or phone number. If you type a phone number not in your system, Jtek will offer to create a new contact. Select the contact, type your message, and send.
- Creating an opportunity from a contact — Open any contact record. On the right side panel, look for the "Opportunities" section. Click "+ Add Opportunity" to create a deal linked to that contact. Choose your pipeline, stage, and estimated value right there without leaving the contact.
- Booking an appointment from a contact — On a contact record, look for the "Appointments" section in the right panel and click "+ Add Appointment." Select the calendar, date, time, and appointment type. The contact will receive a confirmation based on your notification settings.
- Sending a quick SMS or email from a contact — On any contact record, there are quick-action buttons at the top: SMS, Email, Call. Click SMS to open a message compose window pre-filled with their phone number. Click Email to compose an email pre-filled with their address.
- Using the global search — At the top of the sidebar, there is a search icon or bar. Type any name, phone number, email, or tag to instantly find contacts, conversations, or opportunities from anywhere in the app. This is the fastest way to pull up a specific person mid-call.
